The Poole Pantry Project makes healthy food more affordable for local residents while tackling food waste in our community. It’s a low-cost membership food scheme that helps stretch budgets without compromising on quality.

You will need to sign up to be able to use the Pantry. Just speak to one of our colleagues when you come in and they will help you get started. Once signed up, you may choose a selection of 10 food items from our pantry, worth between £15-£20, including:

  • Fresh fruit and veg
  • Tins, packets, pasta, and rice
  • Chilled and frozen goods

The items are donated by supermarkets, local suppliers, and community partners—and are perfectly good to eat but would otherwise go to waste.

The pantry is free to join as a member for anyone who needs it. However a proof of ID is required on your first visit.

There is a suggested donation of £5 for 10 items, which helps us cover running costs and keep the shelves stocked. And for another £2, you can grab a mixture of 4 fresh fruit and vegetables.

With food prices rising and household budgets stretched, more people are facing food insecurity. At the same time, tonnes of good food is being wasted every day.

The Poole Pantry Project reduces waste and gives people more choice and breathing room in their weekly shop. It’s about community-led solutions that work for everyone.

You can support the project in many ways, such as:

  • Volunteer – help stock shelves, welcome and checkout members or manage deliveries
  • Donate – food, toiletries, or financial support is welcome
  • Partner with us – if you’re a local business or food supplier
  • Spread the word – tell a friend, neighbour, or local group

Check the About page for more information on our opening times.
