Community Fridge

The Community Fridge is a self-service community fridge located at Poole Community Exchange. It’s stocked with surplus food donated by local businesses and residents—available to anyone.

  • Open during Poole Community Exchange’s main opening hours (view the About page for more info)
  • Take what you need, when you need it
  • No referrals, sign-ups, or restrictions
  • Food is free and rescued from going to waste

Every year, tonnes of food go to waste—while people in our town go hungry. The Community Fridge helps reduce waste and build a stronger, more sustainable community.

Everyone is welcome—whether you’re short on food, trying to reduce waste, or just need a quick meal. It’s here for the community, and run by the community. The Fridge is regularly restocked with fresh produce, bread, ready meals, and more—depending on what’s donated.

Just ask one of our colleagues and they will point it out for you.

We rely on donations from local residents and businesses to keep the fridge running. You can help by:

  • Donating food (press the Donate button below to view what kinds of food)
  • Volunteering to help with cleaning, sorting or stocking (check out the Volunteers tab for more info)
  • Sharing the word to reduce food waste and support your neighbours
